The 29th annual Junior Orange Bowl Creative Writing Contest is under way. This essay contest is open to eighth grade students across South Florida. SFWA is a co-sponsor of this event.
The theme for the 2016 essay competition is:
“At this, the 100th anniversary of the U.S. National Parks, What Can We Do to Protect our Parks in the Years to Come?”
Contest submissions are due by
January 16, 2017 (postmark).
Ten finalists will be recognized at the awards ceremony at Books & Books in Coral Gables on February 12, 2017. Three students will be awarded 1st Place, 2nd Place, and 3rd Place prizes.
