A New Meeting Place for SFWA.
Our next meeting is this Saturday, July 4, 2009,
SFWA Monthly Meetings will be held on the 1st Saturday of the month at the
South Miami Elks Club
6304 SW 78 Street
South Miami, Florida 33143
It's just off South Dixie Hwy (US 1) between the BP Gas Station and Taco Bell Restaurant. Free parking is available in the front and in the back of the building. Meeting time remains 10 AM - 12 PM.
Effective this month and onward, pursuant to the vote by those in attendance at the last meeting, we have arranged for the Elks Club to be providing breakfast. As a special 4th of July treat, the usual nominal entrance fee will be waived.
At this month's meeting, the main event will Member Readings.
For prospective members, this is a great opportunity to get to meet some of us. For the newer members, it's a good chance to try your material out, get some feedback and reactions. If you have a new book out or coming out, read an excerpt, generate some interest.
The public is cordially invited. Only members in good standing will be permitted to read, but all are welcome to attend. There will be a potluck brunch, courtesy of your Board. Parking is free.
